My name is Mrs. J. Loher and I am very excited to meet both my students and their families. I look forward to establishing a relationship with you as we journey together through the third grade English Language arts learning experience. It is my privilege to teach your children and ensure that each child’s learning experience is filled with exciting opportunities to explore different places through reading. There are many exciting activities and projects planned for the students in the 2017-2018 school year. I am eager to work as a “teacher, parent and student partnership” to make your child’s overall learning experience a positive and challenging one!
When I am not in the classroom, I love spending time with my Husband, my two wonderful sons Joshua (Josh) and Ryan, our dog Sasha and our cat Shadow. Josh is a Junior at Wayne State University and Ryan a freshman at Grand Valley State University. Both of my sons share my love of reading, music and outdoor activity. My family is heavily involved in education through our association with Boy Scouts of America. Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts, my husband is the Scout Master and I am the WEBELOS den leader. My association with scouting is an extension of my service to my country in the United States Air Force where I served for six years. I am proud of my service and the values that I learned during my tenure in the Armed Forces. The most important lesson that the military taught me is that "every task I undertake is the most important task I must complete." My task this year is creating a safe, engaging, enthusiastic learning environment for my students where they get excited about exploration based interactive learning.
